Comics Poetry Reading Response

The first example gives the reader a sense of the conversation in a back and forth change in perspective. The speech bubble always leads to the direction of the other character off the page.

The man in the below comic strip, approaches the mirror (his mind). The man is in contact with himself (the reflection of himself and his thoughts) The man is in touch with his emotions and is interacting with his thoughts as he contemplates life. The mirror and the man have become one.
The mirror is the the mans sanity, or is at least showing him whats left of it. The woman throws a rock into the mirror and as soon as the mirror shatters, the man shattered with it depiction the break down of his emotional state.

The woman begins to collect the pieces, and other woman come to help clean up. The woman took the pieces put them into frames and hung it on the wall and analyzed it like it art in a gallery.
The hung images serve as a way analyze the past and what happened between the two as she collects the pieces, collecting the memories, so time has passed and she is now contemplating form a less emotional or more stable point of view. And the other woman are just her friends helping her or consoling her.

Or she could be evil and just hangs the pieces of shattered people on the wall.

By describing these examples I wanted to show how I saw it. People interpret it differently and that is the beauty of our minds. So many ideas can be generated by looking at a skit of illustrations without text in this context is making me create my own narrative based on what is see.
And it is almost working the same way as abstract art, we interpret it to our own generated ideas based on what we are looking at.

That is what I got when looking at this.

In-Depth City Valdrada page 53

Complete Drawing
Incomplete rendering
Reading Comprehension was good
Approach to depiction was not so great...

I did show elements in my illustration from the description of my city (Valdrada) like the mirroring of the city. I depicted it exactly how I imagined it.
Based on what I learned during other critiques today in class I picked up a lot of tips and ideas to approach my illustration in a better and smarter way. What I saw and heard was enough to soak up some info on how I can do a better job and how I could have done a better job...
Today during my critique I wanted to state some things that would show that I do understand what I brought in to class and what I could have done to better depict the city and details of city. That moment where Don interrupted me (which I did not appreciate at all) was me trying to input to the conversation about better ways to approach. I was going to say that this city is open to the approach of making multiple illustrations showing different scenes just like another student did, but me also knowing that my classmates don't really provide helpful input(based on all critiques we've had). I just wanted to self critique and just have that conversation with Don, ultimately showing him that i understand what I have to do in future reference.  I did not receive great feedback during this critique. I do not get any feedback during critiques and I sometimes get something from Kathleen and Don. I've grown tired of not receiving good input on anything...
I want to bring in the work with the best quality possible and lately they have been unfinished for critique. BUT they are there and they are showing effort, and what my approach was to solve the problem. Not like Lucas's piece today that didn't even show anything at all from his city.

Poem inspired by "The Street" and "Garden"

We are the architects
People talk about the future as if
it was so distant,
The future is every second that
passes by

Things in life cannot be expected to
just happen,
That is just waste of valuable
time

We are the architects of our future
We lead the way and the path
is made a little more as life goes
on day by day

We can also be the architects of destruction
if we do not take control of our lives

Time passes by
Stop and look around
Take those seconds and
mold them to your own vision
Your own creation

We are the architects
